History
Colorado
Precast Concrete has been serving the public for over 30 years.
From supplying hundreds of sanitary sewer and storm manholes for
large subdivisions, grease interceptors and sand and oil traps
for commercial developments, or septic tanks and septic system
supplies for the individual homeowner, they have always strived
to meet the various needs of their customers. Colorado Precast
Concrete serves all of Colorado, including the Denver Metropolitan
area, Colorado Springs, Loveland, Greeley, Fort Collins and the
Western Slope. We also serve our neighboring states in the greater
Rocky Mountain Region, such as Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Utah,
New Mexico and have delivered many products to other states as
well.
When
Harry Hayward started his precast concrete company in 1975, he
made up his mind that he would find a way to mold and pour anything
requested, and over the years Colorado Precast Concrete has built
a solid reputation as the largest diversified precast business
in Colorado.
Harry Hayward knew the importance of becoming part of the local
contractor's network. The Northern Colorado area was expanding and
contractors were building homes outside the reach of city utilities.
There was a growing need for septic tanks and manholes, and Colorado Precast Concrete
provided them. The company quickly grew from a small family business
to a sizable local employer, with all of patriarch Hayward's children
having worked with the company at some time.
Colorado Precast Concrete takes pride in the quality of the products
that it manufactures. The company has grown without the aid of
outside sales people and with minimal advertising.
Septic tanks and manholes are still the mainstay of the business.
Grease interceptors (underground containers that hold cooking
oil waste similar to the way a septic tank holds wastewater) and
cisterns are also regularly precast at the Loveland company site.
Colorado Precast Concrete offers a full line of complimentary
products such as plastic piping, fittings, copper pipe,
and other water line products, as well as, cast iron manhole rings
and covers, grates and frames, and septic field accessories such
as infiltrators, rosin paper and distribution boxes. Also
offered is a full line of grouts and concrete mixes.
Many of their customers ask for the unusual. Recently a telecommunication
company asked if Colorado Precast Concrete could build a concrete
modular building to house the company's fiber optic regenerating
stations. The 14 x 28 concrete buildings are vandal-proof and
durable, and Colorado Precast Concrete continues to precast them
as requested and arrange shipping of the buildings throughout
the United States.
Another unusual line is the concrete vault and building for an
odorless, pumpless outhouse. A Fort Collins, Colorado firm that
holds the patent on the outhouse came to CPC with its idea. The
all-solar operated toilet facility was so successful that the
company now ships the outhouses all over the country.
Colorado Precast Concrete, Inc. is a member of, and certified
by, the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA). Employees
of Colorado Precast Concrete are very active in various trade
associations such as NPCA Educational Foundation, American Concrete
Institute (ACI), ASTM, and the Ornamental Concrete Products Association
(OCPA).
